4種のれんこんチップス
2人分

材料:
れんこん 10cm
ピザ用チーズ 100g

粗挽きコショウ 少々
カレー粉 適量
青のり 適量
一味唐辛子 適量

作り方:
1.れんこんは皮を向いて3mm厚さにスライスする。酢水(分量外)に10分ほどさらし、ザルに上げてキッチンペーパーで水気を拭き取る。

2.フライパンにとろけるチーズを大さじ1杯ずつ間隔を空けて並べ、中火にかける。

3.チーズが溶けてきたら、れんこんを1枚ずつのせる。

4.チーズの周りが茶色く色付いてきたら裏返し、弱火でれんこんに火が通るまで2〜3分焼く。

5.器に盛り、それぞれ粗挽きコショウ、カレー粉、青のり、一味唐辛子を振りかけたら、完成!

(English Recipe)

Fried Lotus Chips
Servings: 2

INGREDIENTS
10-centimeter-long piece of lotus root
100 grams shredded mozzarella cheese
Black pepper, to taste
Nori flakes, to taste
Red pepper, to taste
Curry powder, to taste

PREPARATION
1. Slice the lotus root into 3-millimeter-thick rounds. Soak in water for 10 minutes, then drain.
2. Heat a medium pan over medium heat. Add small handfuls of the mozzarella to the pan, roughly the size of the lotus root slices. Let melt, about 1 minute.
3. Add a slice of lotus root to each melted cheese round. Continue cooking until the edges of the cheese turn brown. Flip, reduce the heat to low, and cook for 2 more minutes.
4. Remove from the pan and sprinkle with your seasoning of choice, such as black pepper, nori flakes, red pepper, or curry powder.
5. Enjoy!

  1. If I made these I would cut them much more thinly, deep fry or bake them with salt and then add any xtra later. Since I'm American, I'd say some crumbled bacon, fried garlic or parmesan. Maybe try out a veggie chip mix w/ some crispy okra, tomatoes, sweet potato, etc?
