  2. Natto + raw eggs + nori + umeboshi + Japanese mustard + soy sauce that has a citric and sweet flavor is my favorite combo 😂

  3. you may not know, but ill ask anyway. i use my oven or cooler with a lightbulb for heat to make natto. i have only used plastic rap to cover the soybeans. i would like to use something more ecological/traditional. i cant get kyogi or banana leaves where i live. i was wondering if corn husks could work. i will try some day but thought id ask anyway. or maybe another natural alternative to the evil plastic wrap?

  9. Poki is like a cat I had(she passed away about 6 years ago), she loved cooked food so "people-food" was a significant part of her diet lol. My mother once served her a human serving of lasagna as a joke, and my cat finished it in one sitting(probably don't do this lol, while it's technically not dangerous a lot of cats would probably get a tummy ache). She always wanted to taste my food, and she'd truly eat nearly anything. She wasn't a rescue or anything, just a foodie since birth I guess. In spite(or because?) of this she lived a long healthy live, very nearly making it to her 18th birthday.

  13. I hated natto when I first tried it, and love it now. I wonder if our bodies realize how good it is for you, and make you like it.

  14. Does natto taste or smell like blue cheese or more like Danish Danbo cheese? = "smelly old socks" pungent, sharp and a hint of bitterness. (My uncle kept the Danbo cheese in a bag hanging on the outside of the window) I learnt to love it as a grown up.

  18. You… you made snot. Poki learned early to bite anything he could get his lips on and to swallow. Although it makes me sad he struggled so long to fend for himself, it makes me laugh and fills me with happiness to see him snatch and gobble anything you put in front of him with a seemingly endless appetite!
