  2. That kinumaki filling reminds me a lot of salt water taffy with how it's stretched and folded on that machine.

  3. Let's appreciate from the gratefulness and respect of Mr. Yuseke Seki towards his ancestors. Japanese culture is very humble. We should learn from them.

  4. Truly a beautiful video, I learned so much. Thank you to Jun and the shokunin!

  5. That's really cool to get to see some of the making process for the senbei goodies. They almost look too pretty to eat.
If you like watching the hard candy making like the filling for the first snack, there's a cool channel called Lofty Pursuits that I recommend watching. They're a candy maker in USA that hand makes various hard candies (drop candy, picture candy etc) using Victorian era tools that is very enjoyable to watch.

  6. I always try to buy these type of omiyage. Everything is so pretty, I can't even throw the wrappers.

  7. I finally have a real job so i can get my own treat box. Thank you Rachel and Jun for working with this company

  8. oh my god they have to hand make and roll that stuff? no wonder its expensive!

  9. I love that the manager also know how to do all the processing steps!!! Managers are way to often out of touch with the actual manual labor

  10. I think you are a very natural documentary maker – I really enjoy your content. It feels educational while also being relaxing and very entertaining. Keep up the good work. 🌺

  11. I lol'ed when your kitty tasted the sauce! 😄
I really want to try those beautiful snacks now. Thanks for a great video.

  12. Hi Jun, I love your channel and hope you read this. I wish you didn't promote Sakuraco.

The company uses shady and dishonest business tactics and I fell victim to it after watching your video. You can find many reviews from unhappy customers all over the internet. Sakuraco automatically renew your plan and bill you without notifying the customer and refuse to issue refunds. Any decent company would honor a refund request made before the box ships. It is also best practice to notify customers before an automatic renewal/payment.

I learned about Sakuraco from your channel and I wished I never gave that company my money. I feel scammed.

  13. Thank you Jun, for this fascinating video. I really enjoyed listening and seeing the process of making Japanese snacks as they have been made for 100 years! Everyone took so much pride in their work. It is done with so much love for the craft.

  14. 🎉 I am soooo jealous….every part was brilliant, Sakura just every bit beautiful n sooo much detail

  15. Holy shit, the accuracy of the stamps are no joke, that's definitely a real deal shokunin! Look at the margins – they're all the same!

  16. You can tell that the tour guide used to be (maybe still is) a badass because of the chain and multiple ear piercing holes

  17. In America a few places still hand pull it so I’m shocked to not see it in Japan.

  18. There’s so much pride in whatever they do. The snacks look so lovely ❤

  19. Many thanks for sharing that, it seems very delicious, even for a French guy 😋
And the process is very interesting, so much skills and traditions 🙏

  20. I truly cannot wait for the opportunity to travel to Japan, especially Kyoto. The beautiful and care of the entire country, is so impressive and admirable. The architecture, the food, the gardens, the capybara spas! 😂 but this is a prime example of the extreme love, care, compassion, and REAL hard working is put into everything. Such beautiful without going too far. Japan has mastered simple beauty in everything I feel like.
